Your Article SHOULD
- Be informative and share your unique expertise or experiences. Our visitors are looking for tips, guides, stories, opinions and informative articles of a non advertising nature.
- Be proof read and checked for accuracy.
- Be between a minimum of 500 and a maximum of 5000 characters in length.
- Your article may contain a brief 1-5 sentence biography about yourself at the end of the article but may not contain any urls, email addresses or links. We will provide a link for you if applicable at the end of your article.
Your Article SHOULD NOT
- Be a press release, advertisment only, or be promotional copy only.
- Be filled with self-promotion and hype. "Low substance" articles will be rejected.
- Have any links, email addresses or urls in the content. A link for you (if applicable) will be published in the credits at the bottom of the article.
- Include any HTML tags other than our supported list (see below). Javascript or any advanced HTML code is not allowed.
- Be cut and pasted from Microsoft Word into our submission form. Microsoft Word adds hidden code and control characters that are not easily stripped, this may delay or be a basis for us to reject the article.
- Include content that is a violation of any law, be considered defamatory or libelous.
- Be porn, hate, violence oriented or have insulting, obscene or degrading tone.
Format Guidelines
TITLE: Your title should be in upper and lower case letters with the first letter of each word being capitalized. If you submit in all CAPS, we will change to "Upper and Lower Caps" without notification. It is fine to not capitalize common words such as "a", "the", "to" and "for" etc. unless you want to. We accept these either way. It is not ok to add HTML tags into the title.
Your title should be "Keyword Rich". You only get a fraction of a second to impress a potential reader and the better a reader can understand what your article will offer them based on the title alone, the higher your chances of increasing exposure of your article.
YOUR FULL NAME: You must include your first and last name as the author of the article. We do not publish company names as the "author" of an article.
COPYRIGHT: Your copyright information (if you choose to include it) must be at the bottom of the body of your article, not the top.
HTML: You may enhance your article with limited HTML (<b> <i> <u> <ul> <ol> <li> <br>). In no cases do we accept advanced HTML code with links, images or javascript. Sorry.
Text Editor Tips
We are unable to accept articles that are copy-and-pasted using Microsoft Word because of the hidden control characters that are added into the code when you paste it onto our submission page.
How to copy and paste into our submission interface with a TEXT Editor instead of MS Word:
- Copy your article from wherever it is (from a website or MS Word or any word processor) into your clipboard.
- Open up Microsoft Notepad (comes with all Windows computers). If you don't like Notepad or don't use Windows, you can use EditPlus, UltraEdit or any other quality TEXT-based Editor.
- Paste your article from your clipboard into your TEXT Editor (Notepad, EditPlus, UltraEdit, etc.)
- Now highlight your article that you just pasted into your TEXT Editor and copy it into your clipboard.
- Go to our submission page and PASTE IT.
General guidelines to help you with the submission process
We only accept submissions directly from the original author of an article, although if you work for an author as an employee or contractor and are submitting the article, please submit the article as if it was from the original author including his or her full name and email address.
There are no restrictions as to the number of articles that an author may submit, although only Collectibles Top 25 members may submit "summary" articles and 2 "full" articles must be submitted for each "summary" article.
We don't accept multiple submissions of the exact same article. Submissions for the same article multiple times with only a few words changed will be rejected.
