Editorial guidelines
These editorial guidelines are designed to help you understand what we accept and don't accept for inclusion in our news section. Before you submit to our site, please read this page first.

Your News Item SHOULD

  • Above all, be NEWSWORTHY and collectibles related.
  • Be current and in English only.
  • Be informative and relevant to the collectibles industry sharing your unique expertise, knowledge and information. Our visitors are looking for tips, product news, special offers, event information and informative news items relating specifically to collectibles and the collectibles industry.
  • Be proof read and checked for accuracy.
  • Be between a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 5000 characters in length.
  • Your news item may contain links to further reading on the news topic but only if relevant and are not redirected through affilate link programs etc. All links will be checked, remember, we will provide a link for you if applicable at the end of your item in the credits section.

Your News Item SHOULD NOT

  • Be filled with self-promotion and hype with no real news content. "Low substance" news items will be rejected.
  • Have any links through affiliate programs or redirects, all links should be targetted directly at relevant content. A link for you (if applicable) will be published in the credits at the bottom of the news item.
  • Include any HTML tags other than our supported list (see below). Javascript or any advanced HTML code is not allowed.
  • Be cut and pasted from Microsoft Word into our submission form. Microsoft Word adds hidden code and control characters that are not easily stripped, this may delay or be a basis for us to reject the article.
  • Include content that is a violation of any law, be considered defamatory or libelous.
  • Be porn, hate, violence oriented or have insulting, obscene or degrading tone.

Format Guidelines

TITLE: Your title should be in upper and lower case letters with the first letter of each word being capitalized. If you submit in all CAPS, we will change to "Upper and Lower Caps" without notification. It is fine to not capitalize common words such as "a", "the", "to" and "for" etc. unless you want to. We accept these either way. It is not ok to add HTML tags into the title.

Your title should be "Keyword Rich". You only get a fraction of a second to impress a potential reader and the better a reader can understand what your news item will offer them based on the title alone, the higher your chances of increasing exposure of your news item.

YOUR FULL NAME: You must include your first and last name as the author of the news item. We do not publish company names as the "author" of a news item.

COPYRIGHT: Your copyright information (if you choose to include it) must be at the bottom of the body of your news item, not the top.

HTML: You may enhance your news item with limited HTML (<I> <B> <U> <OL> <UL> <LI> <BR> <A>). In no cases do we accept advanced HTML code with images or javascript. Sorry.

Text Editor Tips

We are unable to accept articles that are copy-and-pasted using Microsoft Word because of the hidden control characters that are added into the code when you paste it onto our submission page.

How to copy and paste into our submission interface with a TEXT Editor instead of MS Word:

  1. Copy your news item from wherever it is (from a website or MS Word or any word processor) into your clipboard.
  2. Open up Microsoft Notepad (comes with all Windows computers). If you don't like Notepad or don't use Windows, you can use EditPlus, UltraEdit or any other quality TEXT-based Editor.
  3. Paste your news item from your clipboard into your TEXT Editor (Notepad, EditPlus, UltraEdit, etc.)
  4. Now highlight your news item that you just pasted into your TEXT Editor and copy it into your clipboard.
  5. Go to our submission page and PASTE IT.

General guidelines to help you with the submission process

We only accept submissions directly from the original author of a news item, although if you work for an author as an employee or contractor and are submitting the item, please submit the item as if it was from the original author including his or her full name and email address.

There are no restrictions as to the number of items that an author may submit.

We don't accept multiple submissions of the exact same news item so if somebody else has already covered it try to submit something new. Submissions for the same item multiple times with only a few words changed will be rejected.
